Along with getting my new desk, it's been a mission of mine to try and go through the vast quantities of Stuff that I have accumulated over the past ten years plus. The first part of this far-larger-than-I-want-to-admit task was going through a filing cabinet and several large tupperware storage containers full of...papers.

It's amazing the sheer quantity of things one can accumulate when rather than throwing things away, one stuffs them into various cabinets and boxes and folders and the like. I found notes I passed to fellow delegates at a Model United Nations 2003. Included was a note in which I asked a fellow delegate to coffee -- the invitation appears to have been unsuccessful.

There were also a lot of boring stuff, like bank statements and the like, but most of it was interesting pieces of my history I'd forgotten, like my college application essay, some rough drafts of various law school stuff, and a whole stack of old 2001 era Time magazines that I'd gotten when the library got rid of them.

Some of it's been kept, most of it's been shredded and/or thrown away, and to make a long story short, it's all now relatively (for me, anyway) well organized so that I can actually find what of it I need.

Sort of sad, getting rid of a lot of it, even if most of it's low sentimental value and the like. Ah well.

Good evening, everyone. My name is Sean, and welcome to my corner of the vast sea of fragments that we refer to as the Interwebs.

This journal's (for those of you using this post as an assessment of whether or not it will be worth reading) is likely to feature a 70-30 breakdown between stuff I do for fun (anime, video games, Magic the Gathering, and professional wrestling (watching, not doing)) and more serious, real life topics (job search of doom, law, politics, my life, and the like).

I've tried to keep a LiveJournal (and then an InsaneJournal, and now a DreamWidth -- is it a capital W even?) for years and years and years, but never been successful. I'm a bit more hopeful this time, as recent life milestones (turning twenty-eight and a realization that I need to get my proverbial ass in gear) along with a general plethora of things to write about have me in a writing mood, so here's hoping that lasts.

Besides which, after ten years, the giant, unwieldy desk that was put in my room for no apparent reason has been taken apart, and replaced with a much smaller and more compact desk that still has some storage space and actually serves as a much better workspace for me.

This is good since I'm looking for a job, and having a good workspace for that particular task is somewhat important. It also means that I have a decent place to write in general, and that I might not fall asleep at eleven o'clock as frequently due to lying down while being on the computer.
